Is there anything else you would like to know? Please call or contact us at info@duhovkaskolka.cz.
Yes, it is a common part of getting to know our preschool. The best thing is if both parents come to see. Simply contact us to arrange the date of the visit. We will be happy to show and explain everything to you personally.
Children are usually admitted to preschool from the age of 3 years. However, based on individual agreement, younger children can be accepted depending on their social maturity and previous experience with a nursery school or preschool. We offer children a short stay in Duhovka. Based on the visit, we - and our parents - can see whether the child feels happy at Duhovka. The same applies to the preschool or nursery school.
Before the start of the school year, we always offer a getting to know morning that is only for newly enrolled children, so that they can familiarize themselves with the school environment, the classroom, and the teachers. We agree on the next steps with the parents, taking into account the individual needs of the child. As a general rule, the child is in the classroom without their parents, and we gradually lengthen their stay.
The capacity of each preschool class is 25 children and 12 children in the nursery class. In each class there are always at least 2 teachers, one Czech- and one English-speaking.
In agreement with parents, we offer children the opportunity to sleep after lunch or just relax on a mat. After resting, children continue to work with Montessori materials. Rest periods are always adapted to the current needs of the children and to the rules of the class.
We try to spend as much time in the fresh air as possible. We go out in the morning and in the afternoon in all weather conditions. Children have sufficient opportunities to exercise, both in guided activities and in their own games.
Our parents are given access to the My Zone application, which serves as a secure communication portal in Duhovka. In My Zone, parents find not only messages from the preschool, but also reports that we send twice a month, which also contain photos. Parents then receive an email twice a month on how their children spend their time in Duhovka. My zone also serves for ordering lunches, for club registration, and making appointments for parent meetings. These individual meetings take place twice a year, in the middle and at the end of the school year, where we talk to parents about how the child is developing in the preschool in the personal, social, and academic field. Parents have the opportunity to schedule a meeting with a teacher or director at any time during the year.
In addition to the variety of offers of afternoon clubs, a speech therapist comes to the preschool once a week and devotes herself mainly to children in the last grade of the preschool. Depending on the monthly theme, we organize trips to see animals, exhibitions, theater, or other cultural events. We also invite interesting personalities to the preschool, organize art or creative workshops and events relating to traditions or other important events. For parents and the general public, we offer seminars, lectures and workshops on children's upbringing and education.
In July we offer several one-week thematic programs, which take the form of camps. We publish dates and the program in the spring months. Children in the all inclusive program have 2 weeks of the summer camp for free.
